The pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) generated by the MAGNUM devices are low-frequency electromagnetic waves (1-200 Hz). Evaluating the effectiveness of PEMFs on subjects with a femoral neck fracture who underwent surgery within 3 days after the injury.
8-hour stimulation every day for 90 days (75 Hz – 30 Gauss).
The subjects with ACTIVE PEMFs felt less pain during the full post-surgery and rehabilitation period.
Applying PEMFs after femur fracture proved effective for a full consolidation of the bone. The PLACEBO PEMF group experienced more complications.
The pain felt by patients was definitely lighter in the subjects who underwent the ACTIVE PEMF protocol.
